ChessGPT: Play Chess Against ChatGPT
This website provides a simple interface for playing chess against ChatGPT. You can either copy and paste moves into a ChatGPT session or, if you have API access, paste an API key for a more streamlined experience. All processing happens client-side, ensuring safety and security.
How to Play
- Copy and Paste: Play by manually copying and pasting moves from the game board into your ChatGPT session. This method is accessible to everyone.
- API Key: If you have access to the ChatGPT API, enter your API key for a more automated experience. This allows for direct interaction with the AI.
Game Features
- Move Input: Easily input your moves using algebraic notation.
- AI Opponent: Play against ChatGPT's AI, which offers varying levels of challenge depending on the model used (GPT-3.5 or GPT-4).
- Client-Side Processing: All game logic is handled on your device, ensuring privacy and security.
- PGN and FEN Support: The website supports PGN (Portable Game Notation) and FEN (Forsyth–Edwards Notation) for advanced users.
ChatGPT Model Differences
While both GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 can be used, GPT-4 generally provides a more challenging and strategic chess game. GPT-3.5's performance is significantly less sophisticated.
